How First Bite began
It started with a bite that didn’t taste right.
I was caring for a little eater who loved food. He was curious, adventurous, and always excited to try something new... until one day, seemingly out of nowhere, he stopped eating some of his favorites.
I couldn’t understand why. So I did what many of us would do: I picked up his spoon and tried a bite myself.
It tasted completely different than it had when I made it. Instead of the familiar flavor I expected, I could taste soap and traces of meals that had come before it.
That moment sent me looking for another option. I loved ceramic for its clean, familiar eating surface—but I couldn’t find a ceramic baby plate that had everything I wanted.
So I made the plate I couldn’t find.

We combined the familiar eating experience of ceramic with the practicality of silicone... each material used intentionally, and only where it makes sense.

The ceramic eating surface is nonporous and designed to resist holding onto lingering flavors and odors, so yesterday’s meal doesn’t become part of today’s.

A little grip goes a long way.
The removable silicone sleeve wraps securely around the plate, while the grip channel helps keep it in place... giving little eaters more freedom to scoop, grab, and explore independently.

Designed to come apart.
As little eaters grow, their needs change. Remove the silicone sleeve and the ceramic plate transitions with them from those first messy meals to the family table.
